Preschool is a vital stage in the learners’ education journey where they play, learn and grow, both inside and beyond the classroom walls. At LWIS-CiS, we cater to individual needs and learning styles within a safe and supportive environment, ensuring a foundation for social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth. Ultimately, we empower children to become lifelong learners who thrive with a holistic understanding of the world.
Nurturing the unique potential within every child through an inquiry-play based learning approach fosters holistic development. Through play and inquiry, we encourage our young learners to become active inquirers, problem solvers and risk-takers, not only within the school but also in the broader world around them. We provide a stimulating play environment enriched with active and creative child-centered opportunities, like manipulatives, loose parts, real-life objects and play stations, that spark wonder, prompt investigation and inspire lifelong learning. This play-based approach allows children to actively engage in exploration and inquiry, equipping them with the critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity skills essential for the 21st century.
Our curriculum encompasses a comprehensive range of subjects, including literacy, math, science, social studies, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), gross and fine motor development, yoga, mindfulness and fine arts. Our well-developed units, built around timeless concepts, integrate subjects for a holistic learning experience. Children learn facts and acquire conceptual understanding and skills that extend beyond the classroom walls, preparing them for future success. Moreover, multilingual instruction in English, Arabic and French promotes language fluency and cultural awareness, not only within the classroom but also in real-world contexts.
However, learning happens not just in traditional academic subjects but also through physical activities, creative expression and mindfulness practices. More importantly, strong partnerships with parents through our Parent Involvement Program ensure collaboration to unlock every child’s full potential, extending learning beyond school hours.
With a strong foundation at the Preschool level, our learners will develop into independent and reflective self-learners with a global mindset, learning from every experience they encounter and fostering a positive attitude towards themselves, others and the world around them.
